Weekly Photo Challenge: Adventure

The WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge this week is: Adventure

One of the greatest adventures of my life was flying close to the south face of Mt. McKinley and landing on Ruth Glacier when we took a flightseeing tour from Talkeetna, Alaska in the summer of 2013.

Mt. McKinley is in the upper left beneath the clouds

  1. Great adventure – when we were there our flightseeing trip was grounded due to fog 😦 We did manage to see McKinley from the ground the night we arrived but looks like we missed something spectacular! Good for you 🙂

    1. I’m so sorry you missed out on a flightseeing trip to Mt. McKinley! We were in Denali NP for about 4 foggy days and didn’t see the mountain until we were at an overlook on the way to Talkeetna. The day we did the flight we woke up to beautiful, clear skies and booked the flight for that afternoon. I guess we just lucked out.

  2. Wow,

We missed out this Summer on a Flightseeing trip to Mt. Everest from Kathmandu. It would have been VERY expensive, and there was no guarantee about the clouds. We settled for some alternate trips arranged by our hotel in Kathmandu, to the foothills, etc.
