Our last stop of our late winter RV trip to Florida and Georgia was Stephen C. Foster State Park in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Fargo, Georgia.
More of the Okenefokee Swamp coming up in my next post.

Another unknown area in Georgia. We need to spend some time exploring the state as soon as the remove the humidity and bugs:) Maybe late fall one year when we stop to see our son in Atlanta.

We usually go to the Okefenokee in late fall or during the winter when there are fewer mosquitoes. They can be fierce in spring and summer!

I love the swamp. I don’t think I have seen it in the spring. All the other seasons, tho’!

Holly, we usually go there in late fall or winter. There aren’t many alligators then, though.

We had been thinking of checking out that place on our way north. Ends up we’re going west 100 miles and then up to F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain but you really whetted my whistle for a visit! Thanks for the words and photos!

There is also a state park in Waycross in the Okefenokee. The mosquitoes might be pretty bad right now, though. If you ever come back this way in late fall or winter it is worth a visit.

I have seen the park on the list of GA state parks, but thanks for the suggestion.
One never knows what they might do in the future. Even though I don’t see us as Floridians I’m not about to say we won’t ever be back. Particularly if we decide to re-do our flooring. I like that company in Ormond Beach. We could come back just for that and then tour around more on either side of that appointment.
