Lens-Artists #89: A River Runs Through It

This week  Amy has chosen “A River Runs Through It” as the theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge. When I saw Amy’s challenge I immediately thought of the Mississippi River which runs through ten states in the U.S.

The Mighty Mississipi runs from the headwaters in Itasca State Park, Minnesota south to the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana.

” Here 1475 feet above the ocean the mighty Mississippi begins to flow on its winding way 2552 miles to the Gulf of Mexico” ~from the marker at the headwaters

  1. wow that sunrise is beautiful. I’m just reading One Upon a River by Diane Setterfield, a story that begins with The River Thames…some wonderful prose describing the sources of the river…….mmmm food for thought. Great images. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  6. Ah, the headwaters of the Mississippi, where Fred tried to walk across on the rovks and slipped in! It was early November. I feel that my whole life in tied to the Mississippi, from Arkansas to Nebraska, Minnesota, and now St. Louis, MO. Thank you, Beth, for making a record of it in your stunning photos.
