This week our host Patti has challenged us to capture a quiet moment.
My favorite thing to do on a hot summer day is hop in our 17 foot boat and go for a ride in the salt water creeks and rivers near our home. Getting out on the water is always soothing and sometimes we can enjoy some quiet moments as we go along.
This week we took a scenic ride through narrow, twisting creeks through the salt marsh.
We found some quiet moments as we slowly made our way through the twists and turns. Except for when we met a boat going the other way we were the only humans in the area. As we were treated to sightings of snowy egrets, herons, and wood storks the only sounds were those of nature and our quiet engine. Even the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins surfacing for a breath of air made little noise. I was too busy enjoying the moment to get any photos of the wildlife.

Sometimes I like to forget the camera, too. It’s nice once in a while to just focus on being present. Looks very peaceful and relaxing. Quiet is refreshing. Enjoy the day.

Very pretty! What part of Georgia are you in? My nephew is moving to St. Mary’s near Columbia Island next month. I was born in Athens.

We used to do the same Beth. Our previous home was on the marsh and we had a small boat which we’d use to meander the creeks out to the Kiawah River. The dolphin always came along to visit, and the birds were everywhere. There’s nothing in the world that compares! I always tell visitors you’ve not seen the island until you’ve seen it from the water. I’m sure the same is true for you.

Thank you for the video – lovely quiet moments. You are lucky that you can take advantage of these nature adventures especially in this time right now. I can imagine seeing all that wildlife just brought a smile to your face and a joy to your heart.
