January 21-22, 2022
Our ship was docked in Philipsburg, St. Maarten for two nights. The first day in port we had another fun 4×4 adventure.

This time Henry got to drive a 4×4 Honda Talon from one side of St. Martin to the airport on the other side of the island. There were 6 couples from our ship and each couple had their own Talon. We lined up with a guide in the front and a guide in the back of the line. We had to all stay together as we followed our guide through the city of Philipsburg and around mountain roads with spectacular views of the island.

There were quite a few round-a-bouts and at each one the guide stopped traffic so we wouldn’t get separated. Henry loved driving the Talon!

We stopped at Sunset Beach by the Princess Juliana International Airport to watch the planes land and enjoy some beach time. There were lots of tourists enjoying the beautiful day.

The next day we enjoyed a leisurely day aboard the ship. I started the day with a cinnamon roll and ended the day watching another gorgeous sunset.

Stay tuned to see where our last Caribbean adventure takes us.
Wow! That looks so fun!

It was so much fun! I wish I could have gotten a picture of the guide stopped in the middle of the round-a-bout putting up his hand to stop traffic.

I love the look back at the island. The Talon looks like the best way to get around. It looks heavenly there. Donna

Nancy, this was one of our most fun excursions of the entire trip. I had heard that watching the planes land at the airport was one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island. After seeing them in person I can see why! The bar there has a booming business! No rum punch for us that day- Henry was driving!

Another fun post, and I truly love the second photo with the shadows. A day that starts with a cinnamon roll is a good day in my book. 🙂

Judy, that cinnamon roll was to die for! I’ll post a photo of the waffles in another post.

I want a side by side so bad! He-Man’s not really into it so I’m having a tough time convincing him. I really liked that island when were there and want to go back one day. Your day out looked fun, fun, fun, and the views lovely.

You certainly had an adventurous holiday and those 4×4 Honda Talons look like lots of fun. The day we docked in Philipsburg on our cruise, rain cut our tour short. I shouldn’t complain though as it was the only rain in two weeks.

Thanks! It was amazing how close those planes were to the beach. The runway was right across the street from the beach.
