Alaska Trip Campground List

For all you RV’ers thinking about a trip to Alaska, here is a list of all the places we stayed on our trip to Alaska in 2013. I have provided a link to the campground whenever possible. If you travel in a big rig you would have no problem fitting in any of these campgrounds.

I’m not endorsing any of these campgrounds or suggesting these are the only places available. There are many other campgrounds and RV parks along the route we traveled as well as many places to boon-dock on the side of the road. There are also many state, provincial and federal campgrounds along the way. We love to stay in the public parks but found that a lot of them in Alaska and Canada do not have sites big enough for our rig or they were too close or too far away from our previous camping site. So if you are traveling in a smaller rv, you may want to give some of the public campgrounds a try.

  1. I love this list!! While we aren’t going all the way to Alaska, we are heading to Banff and Jasper and areas around. Our plan is arrive right after Labor Day. We have been told (and read) that that is a great time to go because schools are back and prices are down some. We will check out some of the parks you used!! Any other thoughts on the area we are headed?

    1. Thank you! I’m so glad to know that you find this list helpful. Enjoy your trip this fall. Be sure to take the tour on the Icefields Explorer buses onto the Athabasca Glacier in Jasper National Park Lots to see and do in Jasper and Banff. If you use the search box on my blog you will find my posts about our stay there last summer.

      1. Thanks for getting back to me:) I’ve read about the Icefield buses…won’t miss it.

We don’t have WiFi where we are now so I only get about an hour a day when we go get coffee except for the phone. When we move in a few weeks, I’ll have good WiFi and I plan to go through your posts in detail. Can’t wait!!!
