Today is Flag Day in the United States. On June 14, 1777, the second Continental Congress made the decision to adapt a national flag with thirteen alternating red and white strips and white stars set against a blue background. Today there are 50 stars representing the 50 states.

Thanks Terri. I was thinking of the 250th anniversary when I decided to use Flag photos.

We went out of town to visit friends today, and one of the towns we drove through, Fergus Falls, MN, had at least a hundred flags in parks, along resident lots, and paralleling a main drive through town. We were wondering if they were there for the 250th Fourth celebration… Lynn and I didn’t think a thing about Flag Day until I saw this post. I was like, “DUH!!”

Thanks John! I would have loved to have seen all the flags as you drove around yesterday.
