Holly, yes, the fossil gorge is easily accessible. It is inside the COE park which is about 3 or 4 miles off the interstate. I don’t think there was RV parking at the gorge. There is an interesting display explaining how the fossils were found and you can walk down into the gorge. It’s not deep, just a few steps down into the gorge and then it is flat. Search for Coralville Lake on recreation.gov to find out info about the campgrounds. We got one of the walk up sites.
