This July “Seasons” will be the theme for the entire month with a different season featured each week. This week the challenge is “Autumn”.
In coastal Georgia, cool fall weather is always a treat after the sweltering heat of summer. The sweetgrass (muhly grass) that grows here announces autumn with it’s brilliant pink colors.

When we want to see red, orange, and yellow autumn leaves we travel away from the coast.

In our house, autumn means it’s college football season. We have spent many fall Saturday afternoons at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia cheering on the Dawgs.

Patti, thank you for this weeks Lens-Artists Photo Challenge – Autumn
You certainly captured ‘fall’ in all its beauty. I hope you get some football this fall season. 🙂

Judy, I’ll just be happy to have them play a few games and watch on tv from our living room. We had already decided to give up our season tickets before the pandemic arrived.

Giving up season tickets is a tough decision, but it sure is easier from your living room. 🙂

Love them! That water fountain is spectacular!

Pam, thank you. I had seen that fountain many times but never when the leaves had changed colors. So glad we took that walk around campus that day.

Go Dawgs! It will be interesting to see how college football is played this year if at all. Wonderful fall pics!

Lisa, thank you. Yes, who knows what will happen with college football and other sports. I know I will be watching on TV cheering on the Dawgs from our living room if they do play. Go Dawgs!

It is – also because we know they are the last colours of the year…

Beth, thanks for a beautiful reminder that Fall will bring many welcome changes. Sweetgrass also grows in South Florida and I love when it blooms pink – that is how I know it’s Fall.

Suzanne, that’s the sign of fall for me, too. It’s spectacular to see the medians turn pink wherever it’s planted.

Yes. A bit of “normal” would be wonderful, wouldn’t it?

Clearly we share similar climates Beth and your sweetgrass image warms my heart. No way we’ll be traveling up to NC to see the foliage but not this year I’m afraid. Hope you’re able to see some foliage near you. Your images are lovely and show that you do have more color nearby than we do.

Tina, thank you. The sweetgrass is the only image from here. All the others are at least 200 miles from here – middle Georgia, west Georgia and North Carolina. Until this year, we would always go to Athens a few times in the fall and would look for changing leaves while we were in the area.
