July and August in coastal Georgia are always hot, humid and stormy. It’s too hot to sit outside on my porch or go out to take photos. With heat indexes over 100 degrees Fahrenheit it’s easy to be lazy and stay inside to cool off in the air conditioning. Many afternoons have found me inside reading or watching the storms as they roll in. The rainbows after the storm have been spectacular.

The full moons have been spectacular, too.

It’s much too hot to go out and tend to my garden. This year I got lazy and put off pulling weeds in my flower beds because of the heat. I finally found that if I got started pulling weeds about 8:00 a.m. I could get a little work done before the heat got too much for me. Despite my lack of attention, some of the flowers are thriving.

Here in coastal Georgia we usually don’t start getting cooler weather until October. Until then, if you need me, I’ll be inside where it’s cool.

Wonderful ways to spend a lazy summer, Beth, even if the humidity and heat are too much! I can’t take much heat either but at least it’s a dry heat, LOL! Love all your flowers, and a great idea to weed bright and early–good luck!

While all of your photos are beautiful, the rainbows put a big smile on my face!

Thanks! We had another beautiful one last night. It seems like the bigger the storm the prettier the rainbow!

A perfect way to be lazy! I love seeing the rainbow and your flowers!
My weeds are in full force due to too much rain and many guests at our place.
Happy Weekend to you.
PS Oh, I have to tell you something! One of my students from when I taught early childhood classes has become a Georgia Bulldog Baseball player! I thought of you!

Thanks Nancy. Just when I thought I had the weeds under control that are coming back faster than ever 😬 it’s never ending! Congratulations to your former student on becoming a Bulldog! Happy weekend to you, too!

Oh my, those are beautiful shots. Yes, those pesky weeds grow regardless of temps. I dig early too because I’m inside in the afternoon as well. The afternoons bring on a good book and a nice cup of coffee. Enjoy your lazy, hazy summer days.

Beth, I love your rainbow shots. I have been seeing a lot of doubles lately, especially over the ocean. Your flowers are beautiful, in spite of those pesky weeds. Our heat index topped 115 this week. Whew!

I am in agreement – same here in Florida! Those views are spectacular! I would love looking right out at the marsh.

Pam, we are so lucky to have lived on the marsh for over 40 years. When we bought our lot nobody wanted to live here! Now we couldn’t afford to buy a home in our neighborhood!
