Egidio asks us to show things we see as Over the Top. He defines Over the Top as “something too extreme, too dramatic, or more than what is expected and needed.” I’m featuring a few Over the Top ships I’ve seen during my travels.
I enjoyed seeing all of your wonderful Celebrations in response to Patti’s challenge last week. Thank you to everyone who joined the challenge.
Many thanks to Egidio for this week’s challenge. If you would like to join the challenge please be sure to tag your post with Lens-Artists and include a link back to his post Lens-Artists #408: Over the Top.
Be sure to check back on Saturday, August 15 at noon eastern time when guest host Steve Hyde will be hosting the challenge.

Wow, Beth. Those ships are sure over the top! I’d hate to walk that Royal Caribbean ship day after day, but I’d get my steps in!

Anne, I’m with you. I wouldn’t want to walk around the Royal Caribbean ship, either. No thanks to the water slide!

A great take on this challenge Beth. I’m always amazed at the size of those cruise ships. Yes, I would ride on the over the top slide 🙂

Thanks Steve! You’re a brave man to be willing to slide down that water slide!

You found some great examples Beth! You couldn’t pay me enough money to go down that side however LOL. Interestingly your cruise images are a good reminder of why I’m not one to want to experience them first-hand!

Thanks Tina! I’m with you on the slide- no way! We resisted cruising for many years. Then we discovered Viking Ocean with only 920 guests. We love the smaller ship. Whenever we docked next to a huge ship ours looked tiny.

Amazing examples, Dawn. Cruise ships are so huge, they are like small cities. Great composition in your images.

Beth, what a wonderful selection here! I loved your focused approach with ships only. How can some of those things float is beyond my understanding. Great photos!

Thanks Egidio. It took me a while to decide what to focus on. I had fun with the challenge. I’m glad you like the ships.

I’m a ‘boatie’, Beth, as opposed to a foodie, but I’m afraid I regard these as monstrosities xx

Thanks Jo! I don’t think I would enjoy one of those huge cruise ship!

Amazing, Beth.
Those gigantic cruise ships are unreal.
(All I can think of is the Titanic though. Imagine trying to evacuated one of those ships in an emergency).

Thanks Vicki! Those ships are just too huge for me.

the cruise ships are scary over the top! Definitely not my cup of tea!

Thanks Arati. I prefer a smaller ship with fewer passengers.

Those cruise ships have never peaked my interest, and I would definitely not go down that slide. 🙂 I think Bezos is probably in that first shot. 🙂

Judy, I can picture Bezos on that yacht! The huge cruise ships never appealed to me. We have loved cruising on a much smaller ship with only 920 passengers,

Beth, Lynn and I were on our first multi-day river cruise on a ship with 189 passengers, 53 crew. I much enjoyed the time making new friends. That’s not often an experience on the large ocean cruisers. I’m sure there will be more small-ship cruises in my future.

John, I look forward to hearing more about your river cruise. We really enjoyed our cruises on the smaller ships. We always had fun meeting new people. The only river cruise we did was the Viking Mississippi River. We loved it.

Love the blog format! I did a Disney Cruise with family and grandkids, the ship was big but not “Over the Top” big. A larger ship docked next to us, we were definitely smaller.

Robert, thank you so much for your kind words. Those huge ships look even bigger when they are next to one of the smaller ships.

Good selection, Beth. The two docked cruise ships were particularly good. The yacht reminds me of a boat our sone worked on for a while. It included both a helicopter and a submarine for the passengers. He flew the helicopter when the boat was in Antartica.

Thanks Curt! I would have loved a tour of that yacht!

Wow! Great choices for Over the Top!
I would not go down that slide on the ship. But many, many years ago, I may have.
