For Sofia’s challenge I chose flowers that bloomed this May in my coastal Georgia garden.
I had a big oops in January that fractured my left arm. My garden is suffering this year because I couldn’t get out and work in it this spring. The only blooms I’ve had are from plants that come back year after year.

The header image is of one of my knock out rose bushes. I cropped the header image for a closer look at the flowers.
The next gallery has two images of the same hydrangia bloom. The image on the left shows the whole bloom and the one on the right zooms in on the details.

The final gallery includes a black eyed Susan, hibiscus, pink oleander, and a southern Magnolia.

Many thanks to our host Sofia for her challenge Lens-Artists #301 – Floral

Spectacular flowers!

Tina, I’m glad you enjoyed the flowers. It’s a good thing I have a few sturdy plants that survive and bloom without me having to do anything. My arm is healed but I am having to work at getting the strength back. The good news is I injured my left arm and I am right handed!

Ouch, sorry to hear of your injury! Hope it is a quick recovery, Beth. It’s frustrating to watch gardens grow when it is your own, isn’t it? The beauty is it will continue flourish because of the love you have given it in the past. I love your knock out rose, and my favorites are the hydrangea images.

Donna, thank you. My arm is almost back to normal but I still don’t have a lot of strength back yet. My hydrangeas are over 20 years old and have thrived no matter what I do or don’t do. The knock out roses aren’t as old but they bring me those beautiful blooms every year.

Love it! When I had neck surgery a few years ago, it was a year before I could get in my garden. I think someone was watching over it because it bloomed so well. Sometimes they do well without us doing too much anyway.. A hydrangea that is 20. OH, what a dream!!!

John, thank you for the wishes for a speedy recovery. I’m not 100% yet but I’m getting there. Thanks for the compliment on the magnolia image. I may take your advice and get it printed and framed.

Sorry to learn about your broken arm, I can see why that would seriously affect your gardening. I had knock out rose bushes at one of our homes in New Hampshire and they bloomed heavily all summer long. I hope you have a full and complete recovery soon and that you enjoy what your garden gives you in the meantime.

As we ‘mature,’ recovering from some type of medical incident sure takes longer and impacts more.
