I went to a local Farmer’s Market on Saturday to buy some native Milkweed plants for my butterfly and pollinator garden. I found this caterpillar on one of the Swamp Milkweed plants I brought home.

They are just as colorful as when they “come out”, eh?

Yes, and they are fun to watch as they eat up the milkweed and continue to grow.

Egidio, thank you! He chewed up two millkweed plants and then crawled off. I haven’t seen him since. I just hope he survived to make a chrysalis.

That’s wonderful, my friend!
Looks like your new plant came with a bonus guest—nature’s approval in caterpillar form! Your pollinator garden is already making new friends.
Congratulations on being selected to join the Lens Artists team!

Thank you so much! I hope the caterpillar is the first of many that I’ll see this summer. I think it will be fun being part of the Lens-Artists team.
