The city of Tybee Island, Georgia invited individuals and groups to participate in a Fire Hydrant Painting Project to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. These are just a few of the fun and patriotic fire hydrants that can be seen all around the island.

Thanks Anne! I had run riding around the island looking for the fire hydrants on July 3. The island was already filling up with tourists. I would have taken more pictures but parking spaces were scarce.

John, there are a lot more around the island but when I drove around the island looking for them before the 4th the island was already filling up with tourists.

So much more colorful, and therefore more attractive, than fire hydrants normally look.
