I love lighthouses and always look to see if there are any near where we are going. This is one amazing collection of photos. I’d be making a coffee table book. It is a perfect memory of all the wonderful places you have traveled to visit. Thank you so much for sharing them because they are without a doubt very special. 🙂
Do you have the lighthouse finder app? I check it all the time when we travel! Great collection. I’ve been to quite a few but certainly not all of those.
Thanks Pam! Cape Canaveral is one of the Florida lighthouses I have missed. Will add that one to my bucket list. The Bodie light is in the outer banks.
That’s right – we saw Bodie when we visited there ages ago. Time your Cape Canaveral Lighthouse trip for a rocket launch. That lighthouse is on Air Force grounds, so you have to go on a special tour to see it (or on a tour from Kennedy Space Center). I have all the info if you ever need it. If you come this way you’ll also be close to Ponce Lighthouse and St. Augustine Lighthouse too – both very nice.
We sometimes make a place a destination just because there is a lighthouse. It’s fun to go looking for them and seeing the other scenery along the way.
That is a wonderful collection of lighthouses! Next time you are in Florida check out the one at Egmont Key. You can park your RV at Ft. DeSoto State Park and take the Ferry over. Really beautiful place.

Thanks for telling me about the app. I’ll check it out. It took us many, many years to visit all these lighthouses!

Great Photos! I’ve actually blogged about a couple of the Door County lighthouses you have pictured. They’re structures with such storied pasts.

I admire all the dedicated lighthouse keepers who kept those kerosine lights lit.
