This week Amy has chosen “A River Runs Through It” as the theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge. When I saw Amy’s challenge I immediately thought of the Mississippi River which runs through ten states in the U.S.

wow that sunrise is beautiful. I’m just reading One Upon a River by Diane Setterfield, a story that begins with The River Thames…some wonderful prose describing the sources of the river…….mmmm food for thought. Great images. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Great post and wonderful pictures! it is amazing you have so many pictures from so many different locations along the river. This must bring back great memories.
Ah, the headwaters of the Mississippi, where Fred tried to walk across on the rovks and slipped in! It was early November. I feel that my whole life in tied to the Mississippi, from Arkansas to Nebraska, Minnesota, and now St. Louis, MO. Thank you, Beth, for making a record of it in your stunning photos.
Wow! I’ve only crossed it a few times so I loved seeing all your captures! And seeing the sunrise over it will be a constant and wonderful memory for you!
Stay well!

Thank you Amy! I never realized how much barge traffic there is on the Mississippi until I saw them first hand. Just amazing to see.
