Lens-Artists #91: Simplicity

This week  Patti’s challenge is to show what Simplicity means to me.

“I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”
Laura Ingalls Wilder

After three weeks of social distancing I have really come to appreciate the simple things – a phone call with my brother who lives on the other side of the country, a video of one of our granddaughters, social distancing outside with neighbors, and enjoying the little things in nature.

Here are a few of the simple things that brought me joy this weekend.

Sunset over the salt marsh
Morning walk
Wildflower on the side of the road
Morning Sky at sunrise
Blanketflower in the garden
First Monarch caterpillar of spring

Many thanks to Patti for this weeks Lens-Artists Photo Challenge – Simplicity

  1. Now more then ever how we are grateful for the simplest of things… you captured them perfectly! Prayers sent your way for you and yours!

  2. Beautiful choices beth. As you probably know, we are a stopover point for monarchs but I’d not seen a monarch caterpillar before. How curious the stripes are similar to the eventual butterfly!

    1. Tina, I have a butterfly garden filled with milkweed, the host plant for the monarch. caterpillars. I’ve been seeing lots of Monarch come through and I check the plants each day looking for the caterpillars. I was excited when I found this one.

  3. These are all wonderful, Beth – I would have loved seeing a monarch caterpillar in my garden! Glad you can go out, so can we. Helps me staying sane really.
