I hope you enjoy these brown feathered birds from my archives. The Brown Pelicans pictured above were on the pier in Cedar Key, Florida.
I spotted the next four – a Hawk, Osprey, Juvenile Wood Stork, and House Sparrow – at different times near where I live in Coastal Georgia.

The birding was great as we traveled around the Texas Gulf coast a few years ago.

Thank you Lisa. for this Bird Weekly Challenge: Brown Feathered Birds
Beautiful captures. Hawk is my favorite!

Thank you Cindy! I often see hawks and ospreys flying overhead. It was fun to see them perched where I could take a few photos.

Ingrid, I agree. Pelicans are always fun to see. These were hanging around the pier waiting for a handout from the fishermen.

Curt, thank you. Wood Storks are pretty common here. That juvenile looked like he was posing for me.

He certainly did! Thats the way I like my birds to behave when I am trying to take their photos. 🙂

I like your brown birds especially the pelicans. When we go south, I always enjoy watching them try to catch fish and land with a plop. Handsome, yes, graceful, not so much. 🙂

Judy, I love to watch the Pelicans make a huge splash as they dive for a fish.

Oooooo! Ooooooo! Oooooo! What fabulous captures! The stork was very cool… not an everyday bird for us here in the Valley of the Sun!
Thanks Beth for sharing!

These are fantastic Beth! You know the Brown Pelicans are my fav! The juvvie Woodstork has a face only a mother could love! Your mallard is not a mallard. That, my friend is a male Green-winged Teal and what an AWESOME capture! Congrats on that one! Envious! 🙂

Thanks for the correction! I’m not a birder and not good at identification 😀

You are doing just fine but I’m glad I could help with this. You got a real jewel in that one and now you know what you actually saw! 🙂

I fell in love with the grackles in Texas. Their clacks and whistles entertained me while washing the dishes.
