“April Showers bring May Flowers” is the theme for Terri’s latest Sunday Stills photo challenge.
I was in elementary school when I first heard the saying about April showers bringing May flowers. Where I live in coastal Georgia, many of our flowers bloomed in March and have already faded. I walked around my yard to find these flowers the first week of April.
The header image is of my Dogwood tree blooming in the first week of April. I’ve been enjoying the Dogwood flowers since March.
March is peak season for azaleas where I live in coastal Georgia. This light pink bloom is one of the final azaleas in my yard this year.
These Meyer Lemon blossoms will hopefully bring me some lemons this winter.

Thanks Betty. After we had a big freeze at Christmas 2022 I was afraid my citrus trees would die. The Lemon tree is covered with flowers, I’m hoping for a lot of lemons this year! The African Iris seems to do well here.

I love these floral close-ups, Beth! We had a Meyer lemon tree at our Sacramento home but I don’t think I ever snapped a pic of a bloom close-up. I miss seeing azaleas, yours are beautiful! Your blooms are lovely and way ahead of any up my way. Thanks for linking and sharing them today!

Terri, many thanks. The azaleas were beautiful this year. They are usually in full bloom around St. Patrick’s Day. I just wish the flowers lasted longer. Enjoy yours when they bloom!

Cindy, thank you! I enjoy the spring flowers. Too bad the blooms don’t last longer.

Judy, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for lemons, limes and oranges this year! Everything froze at Christmas 2022 and there weren’t any blooms or fruit last year. I hope your garden will be ok after your late snow.

Such lovely floral close-ups! I love seeing the azalea blooms and your iris. Flowers I don’t get to see here in AZ.
Don’t the lemon blossoms have a intoxicating fragrance? Our orange blossoms do.
Thanks for sharing my friend!

Thanks Nancy! I’ve got orange blossoms, too. I haven’t noticed a fragrance from either one. I’ll be more observant next time I check on the blossoms.

Sometimes it is when you are a few feet away from the tree. It’s amazing!

Lots of beauty here. Thanks for sharing. April flowers are reaching their peak in the Monterey Carmel area where Peggy and I are now. Pretty sure there will be a post on them. My fav has to be the African Iris.
