For this challenge Ann-Christine asks us to show what delicate means to us.
My header photo and the one below are of air plants. These delicate plants don’t require soil in order to live.

The following gallery shows more delicate things found in nature.

Many thanks to our host Ann-Christine for her challenge Lens-Artists #300 – Delicate

Very interesting choices, airplants! I have tried a couple of times, but failed. Keeping them moist is a delicate task.. Seashells are wonderfully delicate, and I think you are the only one mentioning them!

Ann-Christine, this was a great challenge. I found those air plants growing naturally on trees. One was in Texas, the other in Florida. I’m glad you enjoyed the seashells. Many thanks!

Ah, well, growing on trees naturally would not be possible here!

Beth, I love the air plants. We have a few of them around our yard. Yesterday I discovered a staghorn fern that had attached itself to a tree branch in back of our house. The ‘Mother’ plant is about 50 yards away. Obviously, a piece blew in the wind and found a new home.

Suzanne, so awesome to have airplants.in your yard, especially the one that found a new home. I’ve never seen any around here.

These themes are great – such variety! I enjoyed your choices and wondered if the air plants were seen in Big Cypress.

Betty, thank you. The header photo was in the Texas Hill Country. The other one was taken on a canoe trip in the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge near Crystal River on the Florida Gulf Coast.

Betty, I was wrong about the Florida airplant. I saw it at Hillsborough River State Park near Tampa.

I like your choices, the dragonfly with wings so shear that they are translucent are definitely delicate.

Karen, thank you! I captured that dragonfly several years ago. When I was thinking about what to include in this post I knew I wanted to include that dragonfly.

Your photo of the air plants is the first I’ve seen of them, Beth. I’ve heard of them, but haven’t before even seen a photo.

John, I’m glad I could share a photo of something new to you. They don’t grow in the wild where I live but I have seen them many times growing on trees on the banks of some of the Florida rivers. The header photo was in the Texas Hill country.

Great images for the challenge. The air plants are pretty cool and are always fun to see when we are in Texas.

Nancy, I love the air plants, too. The header image was from Texas but the other one was on the banks of a river in Florida. We see them a lot in Florida. Happy Memorial Day!
