Anne’s challenge is Reflections. She shared many beautiful examples of reflections and also shared some good advice on how to capture a reflection. Thanks also go out to Leeanne Cole for sharing her tips and images.
I often find reflections in water. I’ll start with a gallery of birds reflected in water.

Mirrors are a great way to photograph reflections even if you didn’t mean to get a reflection of yourself.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my first Lens-Artists challenge. The topic was stormy and I had a lot of fun reading all the responses and seeing all of the amazing stormy weather images from around the world. Next week Ann-Christine is leading the challenge so be sure to look for her post on Saturday, June 28 at noon Eastern Time. And as always, please remember that Every Day is a Gift.
Many thanks to Anne for this challenge Lens-Artists #354 – Reflections

Beautiful reflections Beth! Seeing your bird reflections made me wonder whether the birds see their images?

Anne, thanks you. Now you’ve gotten me wondering if the birds can see their own image LOL!

Pam, I can’t even remember if I took the picture of the wine glass because I saw the reflection of the palm trees or if I just wanted a picture of the wine! Glad you like it!

I love your bird reflections and the sunset, but I think my favourite is the shot of the Cypress Trees – it has a haunting, mystical atmosphere!

Thank you so much. I’m glad you like the cypress trees. The Louisiana bayous are mystical with a lot of stories about hauntings and ghosts.

Loved your choices this week Beth. I agree with Sarah that the cypress trees are amazing and beautifully captured. I also loved the wine glass and who could resist that photo of you capturing the tree’s reflection?! Perfect response 👏👏👏

Thanks Tina. I wish I could say I planned the reflection in the wine glass. I think I just got lucky with the light being just right. I wanted a picture of that Mardi Gras tree and that was the best I could do in a small room with a lot of people. Glad you like the cypress trees.

Beth, your reflections are marvelous. The New Orleans bridge is out of this world. Excellent photos!

Egidio, thank you! I love it when I can capture a reflection, especially in water. We were in New Orleans the end of February to begin our Mississippi River Cruise. The city was getting ready for Mardis Gras. As our ship was leaving the port I grabbed my camera when I saw the purple bridge. I almost missed getting the reflection.

Incredible examples of reflections, Beth! You had me at your opening shot of the wine glass! Cute one of you capturing the angle, too! The purple colors in the Mississippi are amazing.

The palm tree reflection in the wine glass is well captured. ; ) Love all the tree reflections and your fun festive one at the end.

Rebecca, many thanks. The wine glass was a fun capture. My reflection in the mirror was an accident. I couldn’t get the angle I wanted on that tree because the room was filled with other people so I took the picture anyway.

Lovely set. I’ve seen a wineglass used as a prop in many contexts, but this is the one I like best.

Many thanks! I confess – the wine glass photo wasn’t planned. When I set the wine glass down and saw the reflection of the palm trees I had to take a few photos. So glad you like it.

Judy, I’m always glad to make you smile. I really wanted a picture of that Mardi Gras tree. The room was full of other people and that was the only way I could get a picture!

A great selection, Dawn. That first shot is very creative (and I would never have thought of it).
I particularly like the Yellow-crowned Night Heron as I’m a fan of Herons here is Australia.
I was highly amused by your last shot too.
( How many times I’ve been doing food photography back in 2015 and found me in my PJs reflected in a spoon on a plate is priceless).
Everyone has such great and creative ideas on reflections.
I think that’s what I love about following photographers and nature lovers around the world – the wide variety of subjects and ways of photographing those subjects.

Vicki, many thanks! I have to confess – I didn’t plan that first shot with the reflection in the wine glass. When I saw the reflection I grabbed my phone to take a few photos. I’m glad you liked the yellow-crowned night heron. Thanks for commenting!

Ritva, I love taking reflection photos but I hate to admit that I didn’t plan the wine shot. I noticed the palm trees reflected in the wine after I set the glass on the table. I had to get a few photos! I’m glad you like the way it turned out. The Louisiana Cypress trees are one of my favorites, too.
