Cellpic Sunday – Stars and Stripes for Flag Day

Today is Flag Day in the United States. On June 14, 1777, the second Continental Congress made the decision to adapt a national flag with thirteen alternating red and white strips and white stars set against a blue background. Today there are 50 stars representing the 50 states.

  1. We went out of town to visit friends today, and one of the towns we drove through, Fergus Falls, MN, had at least a hundred flags in parks, along resident lots, and paralleling a main drive through town. We were wondering if they were there for the 250th Fourth celebration… Lynn and I didn’t think a thing about Flag Day until I saw this post. I was like, “DUH!!”
