Lens Artists Photo Challenge #327 – 5 Elements

Sofia’s challenge is to feature the 5 Elements of Wuxing, a Chinese philosophy – water, fire, earth, wood, and metal. We can focus on just one element or try to get all five in one image. The following image features four of the elements. I tried but I couldn’t find one with all five.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #187 – Water

Our host Sofia chose water as our challenge and asks us to “please show us your water fun and tell us about it.”

This challenge topic is a subject near and dear to my heart. I have always been a lover of water. Salt water, fresh water, oceans, lakes, rivers, ponds, mountain streams, waterfalls, I love them all.

Lucky for me my husband Henry shares my love of water. We have lived within a few miles of the Atlantic Ocean for most of our life and are surrounded by salt marsh and salt water. Almost all of our travels have revolved around water of some kind. Usually, we stay somewhere near water but until this January we had never taken a cruise ON the water. These images show some of the water fun we had during our Caribbean cruise.

Waterfront Camping

There’s nothing better than having a view of water from our campsite. During our twelve years of part time RV’ing we have found waterfront campsites in many different places.

Wandering Wednesday – Water

I have lived within a few miles of the Atlantic Ocean for most of my life. A dock connects our back yard to a tidal creek.

At low tide, there’s just a trickle of water in the creek.

During the low tide, wading birds walk along the creek bed searching for food.

When the tide is high, it’s a different world.

When the tide is high enough, we can hop in the boat and go for a ride

At the mouth of the creek we enter a river and explore the coastal waters.

And during the summer, when the tide is just right, we can catch fresh blue crabs for supper.
