Lens Artists Photo Challenge #417: Where does it Lead?

Egidio’s challenge is Where Does It Lead? He asks us “What does the title get you thinking about? Trails? Leading lines? Maybe animal tracks? There’s no single right answer, and that’s exactly the point.”

I hope these images have you wondering “where will this take me?”

A walk in the woods

What is at the end of this garden path lined with ancient Oaks and hedges?

Driving on a gravel two track to see where it leads

Where will this sandy path take him?

Into the swamp

What’s at the bottom of the hill?

Last week Ritva challenged us to show Music. Your wonderful responses had me hearing the music in my head. Thank you to everyone who joined the challenge.

  1. Great selection of photographs for this challenge, Beth! My favouorites are the two-track road (it reminds me of exploring the Northumberland Forest), and the creek flowing into the swamp – makes me want to explore it (turtles, snakes, frogs – all the good things). Nice post! pp

    1. Thanks Pam! My husband and I love to get off the main roads when we are traveling. If we our out for a drive and see a two lane gravel road we will follow it to see where it goes. That one was in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Yes, there were lots of critters in the swamp!

    1. Egidio, I love this challenge! I walked on those trails, rode on the gravel two track, and took more than one boat ride into the swamp but I did not ride a gondola to see what was at the bottom of the mountain. So glad enjoyed the images. Thanks for taking me down memory lane with this challenge.

  2. What a superb collection of paths and leading lines, Beth! The images from the southeast, with the moss and swamps, have an incredible energy. The photo of the two-track dirt road instantly sparks my wanderlust and spirit of adventure. Such a wonderful post! 🌲📷

  3. A wonderful selection to meet the challenge, Beth. Interesting to see how many of us photograph paths leading somewhere that’s initially not obvious.

  4. “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I took the one less traveled by.” I was right there with Robert Frost, Beth. I’ve followed many a faint trail wilderness areas, with no other objective than to find where it might lead. My kind of challenge. Thanks.
