Egidio’s challenge is Where Does It Lead? He asks us “What does the title get you thinking about? Trails? Leading lines? Maybe animal tracks? There’s no single right answer, and that’s exactly the point.”
I hope these images have you wondering “where will this take me?”

All these paths are beautiful Beth. I especially liked the ancient oaks path.

Thanks Anne! The ancient oaks were at a beautiful historic plantation in Louisiana.

Great photos, Beth. I especially enjoyed all the US southeast photos with moss, swamp, and palmettos. Thanks for taking us down these paths.

Beth, these are all wonderful, but I am intrigued by the swamp, and whats under that hill. The oak trees drew me back to have another look

Ritva, thank you! I’ve been into the swamp and walked the path between the oak trees but I did not ride in one of those gondolas to the bottom of the mountain!

Great selection of photographs for this challenge, Beth! My favouorites are the two-track road (it reminds me of exploring the Northumberland Forest), and the creek flowing into the swamp – makes me want to explore it (turtles, snakes, frogs – all the good things). Nice post! pp

Thanks Pam! My husband and I love to get off the main roads when we are traveling. If we our out for a drive and see a two lane gravel road we will follow it to see where it goes. That one was in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Yes, there were lots of critters in the swamp!

Beth, your selections are beautiful and so inviting. The woods, the oaks, and everything get us wanting to know where they will lead us. Excellent response.

Egidio, I love this challenge! I walked on those trails, rode on the gravel two track, and took more than one boat ride into the swamp but I did not ride a gondola to see what was at the bottom of the mountain. So glad enjoyed the images. Thanks for taking me down memory lane with this challenge.

Aura, many thanks! So glad you enjoyed the images from my neck of the woods in the southeast U.S. When my husband and I saw that two-track we turned off the main road to see where it went. It was a beautiful drive.

A wonderful selection to meet the challenge, Beth. Interesting to see how many of us photograph paths leading somewhere that’s initially not obvious.

Vicki, thank you so much. I’m not the only one who can’t resist taking photos of paths leading somewhere unknown.

Beth, your gallery is an expert display of the use of leading lines to help explore each image. The opening image made more powerful by the mystery around the curve at the visible end of the road.

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I took the one less traveled by.” I was right there with Robert Frost, Beth. I’ve followed many a faint trail wilderness areas, with no other objective than to find where it might lead. My kind of challenge. Thanks.
