Lens-Artists Photo Challenge – Soft

This week Ann-Christine has asked us to show our interpretation of soft. The first thing that came to my mind was the soft pink petals on one of my Camellia bushes shown in the image above.

A dandelion, milkweed, and a foggy morning are other soft things I found.

Dandelion in a field from last fall
Silky soft Milkweed from last summer’s garden
Soft foggy morning this week

Many thanks to Ann-Christine for this week’s Lens Artists photo challenge #137: Soft

White Feathers

There are so many beautiful birds with white feathers I had a hard time choosing just a few. In recent bird challenges I have already featured White Pelicans (my favorite), Bald Eagles, and Whooping Cranes so I browsed through my archives to find a few images I haven’t yet used in the challenge. I captured this ring-billed gull on the beach this past weekend.

Ring Billed Gull, Georgia
NeNe, State Bird of Hawaii
White Ibis, Georgia
Loon, Jasper National Park, Allberta

I love it when two photo challenge have a similar theme. Lisa’s Bird Weekly Challenge this week is Birds with White Feathers and Terri’s Sunday Stills Challenge is A White-Washed World.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge – Begins with S

This week’s challenge from Patti asks us to find images of objects that begins with the letter S. I chose a few objects found in or around sand or things that are made of sand.

Seashells and seals on the sandy seashore

Seashells on a Georgia seashore
Clam shell on sandy beach in Haines, Alaska
Harbor Seals on a sandy beach in Oregon
Hawaiian Monk Seal on Kauai’s North Shore in Hawaii

Sand Dunes

Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Michigan

Many thanks to Patti for this week’s Lens Artists photo challenge #136: Things that begin with the letter S.

Bird Weekly Challenge #35: Birds I love

I’m not a birder and don’t have a life list but I love all birds and I love to watch them doing what birds do. It’s always interesting to see a bird or a pair of birds on their nest or building their nest. It’s even more fun if there are chicks!

Eagle on nest, Haines, Alaska
Pair of Ospreys on the nest at Gulf Islands National Seashore at Ft. Pickens
Pair of Wood storks building nest at Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge
Great Egret with chicks at Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge

Thank you Lisa. for this Bird Weekly Challenge: Birds I Love
